Is paraffin wax safe to put in cosmetics or lip gloss?

Pure paraffin wax is safe for use, but may not be the best choice as it adds little to a lip gloss formulation. Typically, lip gloss combines castor oil, beeswax, white petroleum jelly, glycerine, flavouring agents and preservatives.





Paraffin wax can be used, but should be of the ';microcrystalline'; wax type rather than ';white'; paraffin (the type used to make candles).





For other cosmetics, for example hair conditioner or pomades, white paraffin may be used.Is paraffin wax safe to put in cosmetics or lip gloss?
