My mother wants to have cosmetic surgery in Thailand... Safe?

My mother is planning on travelling to Thailand to have cosmetic surgery on her nose and a minor face lift, I would prefer she just leave herself to age naturally but its her desicion. Anyone reccomend a good surgeon/ surgery that I can atleast help her in finding someone reliable. Thank youMy mother wants to have cosmetic surgery in Thailand... Safe?
There are several international standard hospitals in Thailand - I would recommend one of these as any operation will carry a degree of risk especially if you were to have an operation in England. If she would prefer somewhere a lttle less frantic than Bangkok she could try the AEK Hospital in Udon Thani - I only know the dental clinic there as I was renting one of their apartments for a month for a holiday.I had some emergency dental work done ( on a Sunday ) I guess the high number of ladyboys in the country means the surgeons have plenty of experience !!My mother wants to have cosmetic surgery in Thailand... Firstly like anything, you get what you pay for ...especially in Thailand.


Thais are FANTASTIC at anything fake, fake tshirts, shoes, nokias, rolex's, boobs! the list goes on.


There are horror storys sure and some of them true but there are these storys everywhere. Once she gets here she should definitly only consider at least semi expensive surgeons (once again you get what you pay for)


Thailand has a blossoming industry in cosmetic surgery and some of the best and most affordable surgeons are here. (please read my other answer regarding sex change and ladyboys). As I myself have not had any surgery of this type I am reluctant (though I will mention a few who are known to me though i cant say how good they are) to refer to anyone however your embassy should be able to help. Last time i looked for someone Google came up with plenty of good ones.


Chulalongkorn university would have some good leads and has some of the greatest medical minds in the country. (Tammaset and Khon Kaen university have v.good medical facultys to if it comes to checking credentials) Burmigrad hospital is one of the better hi-so hospitals in BKK. (there are lots though)


I would personally be looking though for a surgeon who has been trained in the US, CAN, AUS, Europe,NZ, Japan though and be checking credentials as well as contacting satisfied customers. The surgery she is getting sounds relatively minor anyhow and should be rather cost effective in Thailand. Some of their best people are in Sex reasignment.

I dont remember the name of the place she got it done, but it was in BKK and near Unico Hotel, I think that's almost all the patients from that surgery place stay. Wasn't too pricey either
